From ceiling to floor, the home is inviting with its series of arches, Brazilian Lyptus millwork, and marble and Brazilian cherry floors. The entryway draws people in opening into a grand entertainment area, including a living room, dining room and open kitchen. A special feature in the home is the grandchildren’s bedroom with a themed construction room. It has a “dump-truck” bunk bed completed with custom tool-chest storage for clothes. This remodel was built as a “smart” home, with energy-saving and low-maintenance features inside and out, including: automated and zoned controls for all electronic systems, solar-powered and low-voltage lighting, superior insulation, tank-less water heaters, solar panels, gas appliances, and zero-scape landscaping were all used to achieve the highest efficiency. The homeowners wanted their home to be beautiful, welcoming and energy efficient. With the design elements incorporated into this remodel it has all this and more.

The soaring grand hall leads past two dining areas and the kitchen into great room, which looks out over the pool and golf course. This Mediterranean-style, 7,051 sq. ft. home sits on an acre of land in an exclusive aero club community in Wellington, Florida. The client wanted to capture an elegant “old world” mood in this one-story residence. The entry to this home has dramatic, 16’ stone columns delineating grand archways, as well as intricate niches for artwork and multi-level-coffered ceilings.
There were several design challenges. The client has small children and hosts parties for large groups of people. They wanted one environment for their family and another for entertaining. The client also wanted to ensure the home featured the unique panoramic views of the runway and the lushly landscaped outdoor area. An 8’ X 12’ picture window lines-up from the front entry foyer through to the living room to showcase these views. Again to show the outdoors, a major design challenge was enclosing three different structures with different elevations. These were the oversized pool and spa area including a 500 sq. ft. pavilion and the master suite to the home. A custom designed aluminum screen enclosure ties these areas together. The home’s exterior features a combination of pre-cast stone and stucco molding accentuating Anderson windows with stone castings. On the interior, these windows have wood casings. The home has four bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, library, playroom, guest bedroom suite, arts and crafts room, four full baths, a sunken wet bar, three half baths and a three car garage. Future design plans include building an airplane hangar.
